Chapter 1

Boredom. It happens to everyone. Since I moved to the city I seemed to be slipping into it a lot. I miss home. I loved the small town of which my feet were planted for 17 years of my life. It was comfortable, familiar. I don't regret leaving. College was a must. I am very happy with the career I have taken. Of course, there was no way I could get a decent paying job as an architect in St. Marks, so I always knew the move to the city was inevitable. But still, I find myself slipping into a funk every now and then. But I don't want to complain. I have friends here in Alex City. I make good money, and have a fantastic family. Although they are six hundred miles away. Oh well. Life could be worse.

"Hey Savannah, open the door!"
"Hey girl, whats up?"
"Why are you in your PJ's? Its Friday night! Come on, I heard of this great new bar downtown, lets go check it out!"
"I don't know, I just put in my movie and...."
"I am not taking no for an answer! Come on, lets pick out something HOT for you to wear!"

Jane followed Savannah upstairs. She could never figure out what it is about the city that made people so pushy.
"What do you think of this one?"
"I don't know why I bring you with me anywhere! All eyes will definitely be on you!"
"Gimme a break!"
"Now lets get outta her before you change your mind and put back on your pajamas."
"I didn't know I had that option."
"You don't, I was just saying, now come on!"
Strolling up to the building, Savannah had to fight back a smile.
"Great new bar huh? This is the same bar we go to every time we go out together."
"Yeah, well, I am running out of reason's to get you out of the house. Sue me!"
Savannah laughed, "OK, then I guess it's my turn to buy you a drink."
"I thought you'd never ask!"
They laughed as they walked towards the bar, and took their seats in their usual spot. Savannah called to the bartender and ordered a round of the usual beer they shared, and slapped down exact change.
Jane glared at her, "Why don't you just open a tab, we are going to be here a while."
"Oh no! I am not falling into that trap again! I have no desire to make a fool of myself tonight, and spend the morning hugging the toilet!"
"Whatever!"
The girls sipped their drinks and talked about the weeks events. Jane always had so much to say. She dominated the conversation. After a while, they started in on their usual guy watching.
"So many hot guys and only one of me!" Jane would always joke.
Jane continued to ramble about the guy who sits three desks down from her at work, but Savannah was distant from the conversation. Her eyes focused on a figure across the room.
"Hey! Spacey lady, what are you staring at? OMIGOD! I see. You have great taste!"
"He would never give me the time of day."
"He is staring right at you! Omigod! He is coming over!"
The guy walked over, took the bar stool next to Savannah and ordered a beer.
"Hi"
Savannah held her breath, and looked up to see the gorgeous guy looking straight into her eyes.
"Hello." Savannah had almost forgotten that Jane was still there.
"My name is Jane, this is my friend Savannah, and you are?"
"Thomas." His eyes never left Savannah.
"Well, as much as I would love to sit here and chat, I have to piss. It is a pleasure to meet you Thomas." Savannah couldn't help but laugh. Jane was so crude. Jane excused herself and walked to the bathroom and Savannah refocused herself to Thomas.
"Well Savannah, can I buy you a drink?"
"Sure."
"What are you drinking?"
"Gin and tonic." She knew this was a bad idea. She had already cut herself off from anymore drinks. But how was she supposed to say no to this guy. Not an option.
They sat and chatted, and after three more gin and tonic's, Savannah found herself backed into the corner of the bar, right beside the ladies room, with Thomas face just inches from hers.
"I don't normally move this fast."
"Me either, its been a while since I have even....never mind." Savannah felt her face turning hot, and she pursed her lips. Thomas chuckled.
"You are so incredibly adorable."
"I am glad you think so. However, I would prefer to crawl in a hole and die right now."
"And miss this?" Thomas slowly leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. The kiss was gentle at first but then something took over. It could have been passion, but it was probably the booze. They both started grabbing at each other wildly, pressing their bodies into each other.

Thomas freed his mouth for a moment and looked at Savannah,
"Do you think we could use some privacy?" Savannah answered with a breathy "Yes", and followed Thomas into the ladies room. He took her by the waist and lifted her up onto the counter and continued kissing her. He moved from her lips to her chin, and down her jawline to her neck.He reached his hands up and started to push her jacket off her shoulders, and Savannah realized this was going to go much further than she had anticipated. She definitely didn't want to do this in a public restroom. Thinking quickly she stuttered,
"Do you wanna come back to my place?" Thomas paused and then looked up at her,
"Sure", he smiled.
Savannah hopped of the counter, and Thomas took her hand and led her to his car. She looked over and saw Jane snickering in the corner as she walked through the door.

"Well, this is it", Savannah said as she turned the key in her door. She pushed the door open and and looked to Thomas and said, "Follow me".

He followed her up the stairs and to her bedroom. Everything was a blur from there.

Savannah woke up to hear quiet footsteps walking across her bedroom, down the stairs, and finally out there door.
She rolled over, and sat up to look around the room. She noticed last nights clothes laying on the floor, and then syped a piece of paper sitting on top of her dresser. She got up from bed, and walked across the room and grabbed the paper from the dresser. Staring at it she couldn't help but smiled at the simple message.

Thanks, Thomas. 555-0942
"Well, I guess I gave him what he wanted."
